Getting started
Introduction
VenueRun lets restaurants, bars, stadiums and other venues take orders from customers' phones — at the table, at the counter, or by scanning products themselves — and get paid through their own Stripe account.
How it fits together
- The dashboard at venuerun.com/dashboard is where you build menus, add products, print table tags, and watch orders arrive.
- Your storefront lives at
venuerun.com/<your-handle>. Customers open it from a link, a QR code or an NFC tag, browse your menu and pay. - The VenueRun App Clip opens instantly on iPhone when a customer taps an NFC tag or scans a code — no app download. It supports Apple Pay and self checkout by barcode.
Merchants and venues
You can create two kinds of workspace:
| Workspace | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Merchant | A business that sells: it owns its menus, products, orders, payments and team. |
| Venue | A place with several merchants — a food hall, a stadium, a market. It has its own page that lists the merchants trading there, in the order you choose. |
Most businesses only need a merchant. See Venues if you host several.
Ways customers can order
| Order type | What happens |
|---|---|
| Tag / table | The customer scans the tag on their table or seat, and the order arrives labeled with it ("Table 12"). |
| Pick up | The customer orders ahead and collects at the counter as soon as it is ready. |
| Self checkout | In the App Clip, the customer scans product barcodes and pays — no line. |
