Use test mode

The switch in the dashboard header moves between Live and Test mode. Test mode is a separate copy of your business for trying things out.

What's separate

Products, menus, modifiers, tax rates, customers, orders, webhooks, API keys and functions each exist in either live or test mode. Anything you create while in test mode stays in test mode.

Some things are shared, because they're real-world objects: your tags (they're printed), your business settings, and your team.

Test orders

In test mode, orders are paid through your Sandbox Stripe account with Stripe's test cards — no real money moves. Test orders are marked Test, and their emails start with "Sandbox — ".

Import test orders on the Orders screen fills your test mode with up to 100 sample orders, handy for seeing a busy day.

Clearing test data

Settings → Advanced → Clear all test data deletes everything in test mode. Type DELETE TEST DATA to confirm. Your live business is untouched.
