Getting started

Set up your business

1. Create your account

Go to venuerun.com/auth/register, enter your Name, Email and Password, and choose Create account. You land on your dashboard, where you can pick Merchants, Venues or Account.

2. Create your merchant

Open Merchants, type your business name under Merchant name (at least 2 characters) and choose Create. You are the merchant's Owner, and you land on its dashboard. The sidebar is where everything lives: Orders, Menus, Products, Customers, Tags, Templates, Media Library and Settings.

3. Fill in your business details

In Settings → General, add your description, email, phone, website and Timezone, plus your address. The timezone matters: it decides which menu is showing and whether you are open.

4. Choose your handle

Your handle is your storefront address: venuerun.com/<handle>. Set it in Settings → Handle and choose Save handle.

  • 2–63 characters: lowercase letters, numbers and single hyphens (joes-diner).
  • Some words are reserved for VenueRun's own pages, such as tag, docs and dashboard.
  • Choose it before you print anything. Changing your handle changes every printed URL that uses it.

5. Add your branding

In Settings → Branding:

  • Brand assets — your Logo (and a dark-mode version), Banner, Icon and Favicon.
  • Colors — your Primary color is used for buttons across your storefront and the App Clip.
  • Fonts — choose Google Fonts for headlines and body text.

6. Set your hours

In Settings → Hours, turn each day Open, then set Opens and Closes, or choose 24 hours. Outside these hours your storefront shows We're Closed and does not take orders.

7. Choose how customers can order

In Settings → Fulfillment, turn on the order types you want:

  • Pickup — choose where customers collect: Counter, Table, Curbside or Drive-through.
  • Tag ordering — orders placed from a table or seat tag. You can add a Tag delivery fee.
  • Self checkout — customers scan barcodes in the App Clip. Anonymous self checkout lets them pay without entering their details.

If no order type is on, your storefront shows Ordering Unavailable.
