How customers order

Customers never need to download an app.

On the web

Your storefront at venuerun.com/<your-handle> works in any phone or desktop browser. Customers browse your menu, add items with their choices, and check out:

  1. How you'll get it — Pick up ("Collect at the counter") or Order to your table.
  2. Your details — first name, last name, email and phone.
  3. Add a tip, if you've turned on Collect tips in Settings → Ordering.
  4. Pay by card through Stripe.

After paying they see the order's progress — waiting to be accepted, being prepared, ready — live, as you move it along.

Customers can create an account to save favorites, but they don't need one to order.

On iPhone: the App Clip

Tapping an NFC tag or scanning a VenueRun code on an iPhone opens the App Clip — a small part of the VenueRun app that appears instantly, with your branding. Customers can:

  • Order to a table by scanning the table's QR code or NFC tag.
  • Pick up at the counter.
  • Self checkout — point the camera at product barcodes, then pay. Make sure your products have their UPC filled in.

They can pay with Apple Pay, and sign in with Apple, Google or an emailed code — or continue as a guest.

The emails they get

WhenEmail
They pay"Thanks for your order" — a receipt with the full breakdown
You choose Mark ready"Your order is ready"
You refund them"Refund issued" or "Partial refund issued"

When ordering is closed

Customers see why instead of an Add to cart button:

  • We're Closed — outside your hours.
  • Ordering Paused — you've turned on Pause store in Settings → Ordering.
  • Ordering Unavailable — no order type is turned on, or payments aren't connected yet.
