Tags and QR codes
A tag is a physical spot customers order from: a table, a seat, a bar stool, a room. Each tag has its own QR code (and can be written to an NFC sticker), so an order placed from it arrives labeled — "Table 12" — and staff know where to take it.
Tag ordering must be turned on in Settings → Fulfillment → Tag ordering.
Create a tag
- Open Tags and choose New tag.
- Under metadata, add what identifies the spot as Key and Value rows —
Table/12, orSection/BandSeat/14. - Visible rows (the eye icon) make up the tag's label customers and staff see, such as "Table 12". Drag rows to change the order.
- Choose Create tag.
Tags are physical, so they are always live — there is no test-mode copy of a tag.
Making many tags quickly
Turn on Increment Values on Activation/Save and each save bumps the values for the next one — 12 becomes 13, A becomes B — so you can create a room full of tables in a row.
The QR code
Each tag's Tag Details shows its URL, venuerun.com/tag/<tag-id>. Under QR Code you can set its Color, Background, Margin and Error correction, then choose Download QR.
Scanning a tag opens your storefront — or the App Clip on iPhone — with the table already chosen.
Printing
For table cards and stickers with your branding, design a template once and print a copy for every tag. See Print table cards.
